Yali – freshly showered – is chasing Patience around the house that morning before church... crazy laughing... “I'm gonna BREAK YOU little man!” he declares (his new favorite phrase)... Mama cuts in... “Yali. Stop breaking little men”... “HAHAHAHA!”

Skip ahead to post-church service... Patience keeps burning her lips on a too-hot styrofoam cup of hot cocoa... runs to the drinking fountain to add water...

...while Yali is practicing magic tricks with his Lord of the Rings ring on one of the Bible study tables...

An unexpected rattle of thunder breaks the early afternoon as Patience and I prepare to leave for the movie theater...

Drive into the dark mantle before any rain falls... hurrying inside to grab a pack of Reeses M&Ms for Patience before walking down to screen 4 and “Freakier Friday”...

...two hours later as we walk back out into a wet world Patience announces her verdict... “I loved it!”... and proceeds to list her favorite characters... which is basically all of them... eager to share more about the experience with Pops and brothers over bowls of mandarin orange chicken back home...
