Patience is in the kitchen – early – mixing chocolate chip muffins for breakfast before relaxing on the couch with her sketchbook and a pack of colored markers working on dress designs...

Yali marching around the house carrying a gallon of milk for a “work out” he informs me...

Puck walks out of his room... cat has spilled ramen all over his floor and Floridian machete... asks for a mug of black tea before he begins sprinting and weight-dragging drills in the yard during an already-humid hot heat of the morning...

Bus Yali and Patience to Malcolm Terrace Park for some outdoor play before the heat index increases...

Puck calls trying to find his sweatbands in the laundry... recommend he takes the sash off an old bathrobe instead... it works for him...

Return to Puck wearing the yellow sash samurai-style around his head... paused from dragging two fifty-pound weights across the grass... worried about a baby bunny in the hedge... “I think he had heat stroke so I picked him up and brought him inside for awhile”... the ox has always had a soft heart...

Plate BLTs and tater tots for the crew at lunch... boxed in with heat... Korean and Japanese dramas competing across the living room while chow is consumed...

Yali then straps on rollerblades... crashing around inside the house in loops... dog doesn't know whether to run with him or hide from the fantastic noise...

Puck to work for another four hours...

While everyone else shares a large pan of baked chicken in Oxbear's special marinade... in a grumble of thunder...

Before I run Patience over to the studio in a sudden rain and a double rainbow...

Oxbear leaves for an elder's meeting...

Then Mama back to grab Puck in a blinding lavender light of splashing rain reflecting off the pavement... opens into explosive city of cloud edged in searing white light of rain-cleaned sun...
