While St. Louis begins sending their kids back to school – already!...

...my kids are still lifting weights and sucking down green tea and watching K-dramas and providing detailed babysitting reports where avocados were sliced and tangerines peeled and attending play therapy and reenacting dramatic deaths with more fake blood drenchings on the trampoline and hanging out with friends and sketching dress designs and watching a pet snake prepare to shed...

Skip ahead... pink blast of sky at summer night... Puck returns from J's to bring his cat out on the trampoline... watch the bats... no fireflies... “They're going extinct” he tells me... inside for ramen with chopped chicken and soft-boiled egg for Puck... Oxbear and I duo-ing Sim City on the twin GameBoys he's found someplace because we should be working on stuff but... nostalgia calls... and those tiny digital cities need building...
