Saturday morning is already deep into Yali asking me to play audience to his dramatic death reenactments in homemade costume and rate them in order of “best-ness” while Patience requests assistance with solving logic puzzles on her tablet... and then Yali asks me to check out the snake skin shedding in Justin's tank... “He did it!”...

It's mid-morning... Patience is stomping in the studio for two hours while Oxbear gets the oil changed in the Honda and Puck is out the door to meet J for Hurricane Harbor before J's late afternoon shift at Smoothie King...

Kids scarfing egg sandwiches at lunch where I must once again remind them – “The goal is to get the food into your mouth without spreading condiments all over your cheeks...” – before they drive out to St. Peters with Oxbear for the afternoon... Patience wants baking lessons with “Nana”... and Oxbear and Yali have costume pieces to hunt for at secondhand shops...

And after a full day of work for Mama... Oxbear encourages a drive down the road to a people-less park where I take about forty-five minutes under greenery and watery sun to read the entirety of the children's book “Sarah, Plain and Tall”...

...before we're all back home again for the evening and the yellow cat is out trying to stalk the snake in his tank...
