The last day of September.

It was a day, almost in entirety, uneventful.

There was nothing but tutoring in the morning.
Francis had just been given the last Oreo that Collette had saved in the cabinet.
“How old is it?” he asked.
Someone had been listening to his older sister regarding expiration dates…
“Two days.”
“Smells good. Could I have a small glass of milk to perfect it?”

Luke and Leia arrived in the afternoon. They took a walk, the four of them, as Luke bounced Leia around in the stroller. And Puck also took his turn to push it.
Leia also seemed rather interested in the Greek music coming from the stereo. She stood in front of it, pointing to the glowing green button and sort of started to dance as she listened.

Around four o’clock, Collette began putting together the bean and pepper salad. She chopped up the onion as well, until it gave her a rather horrible splitting headache behind the right eye. So she skipped the rest of the onion. Onions were usually nothing more than a bother anyway…

In the same hour, word came from Rose that her contract would officially expire the next day, three days before her first course through Leicester.

It was one of those flat-line days. And yet OLeif always managed to have some sort of trick up his sleeve to change that. This time, it included pizza, a chocolate lava cake, and a film about hooligans — well, that last bit was from Collette. Somehow it didn’t really seem to have hardly anything to do with football though…
