1. On a chilly overcast afternoon, I catch both Yali and Patience dismantling the mound of gravel in the street, leftover by the repair crew
2. Patience breaks a glass bottle in the driveway under the minivan; not sure how, or why
3. Yali and Patience set up the tent in the living room again, sneaking a large box of Cheez-its with them, which naturally ends up crushed into crumbs
4. Puck spends hours on his STEAM program, building up worlds with design, engineering, physics, ecosystems, mathematics, even bartering for orange seeds and banana seeds… computer programs from my generation have nothing on his
