Boys are gone fishing by seven that morning... Yali snaps a photo of a flaming amber sunrise for me... red sky at morning...
While they're out catching and releasing bass and catfish... Patience is busy reheating a bowl of rice for breakfast with another episode of “Little House on the Prairie” before leaving for the studio...
No rain yet as we drive east... Patience steps out for the door as I turn back west... a few blasts of lightning crack the sky... by the time I turn the corner into our neighborhood the deluge has begun... and it won't stop again the rest of the day... just as predicted...
Everyone's back again in the afternoon as the rain keeps tapping...
Yali testing out his new tomato red superhero-villain 3D-printed helmet...
Puck slapping a machete into the already-butchered storage room drywall... a testing wall for nine years of boys and various weapons of interest...
Oxbear stitching a handmade slingshot from paracord for Yali...
Another pan of banana bread into the oven as Puck and Patience exchange more ridiculous conversation over paper sacks of sugar and flour...
...while Mama takes in a viewing of “The Village” on the laptop during lunch break...
Dripping goldenrod past the window in a blue-glass rain of October...
