Before I'm even up for the day Oxbear is already gone shooting with friends... texting me notes on the squirrel in the attic whom he's found swinging by its arms from the corner of the roof... caught in his act of trespass... “What should we name him?”...

Several minutes later Yali and Patience are studying the photo with intensity attempting to craft the right name for this nutty intruder...

After breakfast Yali is fully geared up for a raptor hunt in the yard... he later calls me out to examine the trail of “blood” leading into the honeysuckle hedge... before returning indoors to capture more inspiration with a partial viewing of “Jurassic World”... after awhile he hits pause... “I need some water now... it's so beautiful it's making me thirsty...” he motions towards the film... “whenever I see something beautiful it makes me thirsty”...

Afternoon and Puck is back from adventuring with friends... follows me around to chat while I organize the basement... grabs a sheet of decorative gold leaf from the extensive pile of arts and projects supplies and stuffs it in his mouth before I read the label... it isn't food grade... out comes the gold leaf...

I need to drive over to the secondhand shop” he tells me shortly later... “Wanna come with?”...

So we take a quick trip across the road as I ask... “How weird exactly are Dad and I compared to your friends' parents?” // “It's not that your weird parents... you're just weird people... our whole family's weird...”

After Puck grabs a coat stitched in Ukraine for four bucks...

Back home for peppermint bark..

...where Yali is artfully rearranging his snake's habitat... sharing thoughts on the boa who's currently fifty percent off at Petco...

Oxbear's back after dark...

...as Patience suits up for the studio on a cold night...

...and Mama finds herself noting more to the air... “I kinda want a poison dart frog for my birthday...” **Oxbear from the kitchen** “Oh we know Collette... we know...”

Sliding around town between studio and library and Taco Bell for the Puckster in a cold soft rain under scoop of cooper moon...
