A Birthday Celebration

Saturday, October 10, 2009

Saturday was for celebrating Theodore’s birthday, one day early. But first, OLeif spent most of his day playing music at a prison for ministry outreach with Judah and several others from church.

In the afternoon, Gloria, Collette, and Puck picked up OLeif and headed over to Sam’s for supplies.
“Well, hello, Dr. House,” Gloria greeted the man in the produce quarter. “Doesn’t he look like Dr. House?”
The man grinned. Gloria saw him there regularly, and apparently she wasn’t the first one to think that he looked like House.
He came over in the hubbub of the crowds and helped them pick cantaloupes, by the softness of the rind and the sugary smell.

Back at the house, Izzy joined them (back from the RecPlex with a friend), for sodas, pizzas, and chocolate cake with peppermint chocolate frosting. And Theodore was given his ‘epic cowboy poem’ from Collette, cover illustration by OLeif, and wrapped by Puck (with help).
They sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to him, and he blew out his five candles.

The evening was cool, and autumn was well underway.
