A Day for an Eviction Notice, Burgers, and the Twilight Zone

Monday, February 6, 2006

Super Bowl had included one good interception by the Seahawks (Collette’s favored to win), and there was little else to be said on the subject. The event took place at Boy’s house, which was very pleasant, and even Nicodemus and Ivy showed up to enjoy the evening and Ivy, of course, brought plenty of food to be shared.

Meanwhile, Frances received a formal eviction notice from Carrie-Bri Monday afternoon.

Frances,

You are formally evicted from my room.

Carrie.”

I don’t know what to say,” Frances said, a little dazed, after reading the paper.

After having slept on a mat in Carrie’s room along with the dog for a good number of months, his smelliness had induced Carrie to finally rid herself of the male and dog inhabitants. Naturally, the only reason Frances had not occupied his room with Joe was because of the fact that there were little things worse in the world than sleeping by oneself in a dark basement until Joe came down later at his bedtime.

And during lunch, the entire gang encouraged Joe to informally ask Echo-Josue to the barn dance that Saturday night at church. They all gave him advice, patted him on the back, and told him to get a hair cut before he asked her. However, Joe was a cautious fellow, and the likelihood of such a thing taking place didn’t seem high, particularly as he was a courteous chap and didn’t wish to stir the bucket, etc.

In other news, Rose walked around the house wearing Mom’s old blue McCluer North cheerleading sweater. And Frances and Linnea spent a good deal of the afternoon running around outside in the bitter cold and petting the German Shepherd, C.J., tied up in the old alligator man’s backyard. Frances was also out randomly clipping an old wire fence around the neighbor’s overgrown vegetable garden with wire cutters. Apparently he thought he was aiding them in getting rid of an eyesore. Collette was horrified upon this discovery, but did not stay long enough that evening to find out what happened, and if anyone else knew about it in the first place. And Mom had a dream of Diana and Shechem becoming married and having a son named Cameron. (Although Collette knew that Diana would like to have a girl named Sierra one day). Collette and Linnea acted out Rod Sirley’s episode “The Midnight Sun” from the Twilight Zone with Collette’s, Carrie’s, and Rose’s old Pollypockets.

Soon, OLeif came to carry her off to the Silverspoon’s for a dinner of burgers and fries and more Twilight Zone as Theodore arrived home from Texas to visit clients and for a visit with Relevance and Kitts.

She loves it there,” Theodore said, “She says she just walks around campus smiling sometimes, looking at all the old trees.”

‘Yup,” OLeif said, “sounds like Kitts.”

And OLeif spent two hours with Izzy aiding in the production of his team’s robot (which drew rectangles) for an upcoming presentation on Valentine’s Day. By ten or so they were on their way, but not before Denae had packed them a bag of apples, oranges, bananas, aspirin, and batteries.

As for the earth, out of it comes bread, but underneath it is turned up as by fire. Its stones are the place of sapphires…” – Job 28:5 & 6a
