In which things happen…
Puck came shuffling into the room, stripped to his waist from his footies to have OLeif unlock the soap bottle for him. A rush of water from ‘the loo’ not later and a yelling…
“Are they killed yet, Dad?”
[The germs, that is.]
Before OLeif departed for work that morning, Puck helped him begin to install the old stereo system in the bedroom.
The day was warm. After a run to the library and then a mile or so around the park, Puck had collected a sweatpants’ pocketful of monster acorns. Collette suggested they bake them in the oven to take care of the weevils. Puck was fascinated with this idea…
“I think he is duh king of deese weevils,” he said, pointing to one of the particular large specimens.
Luke and Leia were not in attendance that day, so Collette and Puck enjoyed a pile of soft caramels after lunch, word of the Cardinals making the play-offs, and the continued saga of letters, emails, and phone calls for that old Hamilton line, while Puck listened to the tunes and script, over and over and over again, for the kids’ musical in December…
“King Herod is a very super bad king,” he said crossly. “And God is super good.”
In other fine news of the day, the Eight’s baby boy was delivered in at
9 lbs., 10 oz.
