OLeif entertained Collette on the morning ride out with explanations regarding the mechanics of a current British television game show.

Chocolate chocolate chip muffins and bacon were waiting for breakfast.
Naira and Puck spent their morning quickly, via wading pool, goldfish crackers and juice, books, small block castles on the driveway, and original compositions on the piano.

While Collette grilled up a round of quesadillas for Francis’ lunch, he chatted about stuff…
“You know one of the guys who won Survivor comes to swim at the Y sometimes. He’s a pretty skinny guy. Looks like he barely eats the meals his mom makes for him.”
…..
Puck, busy with an Andy Griffith after much hour in the sun and fresh air, was aware of the remaining giant chocolate cakey thing under glass in the kitchen…
“Mama? Can I have a black muffin?”
Carrie, meanwhile, was involved in composing two round loaves of French bread.

Returning from a walk with Collette and Linnea, Puck got busy washing windows and other things on the patio, while Mom browsed ideas…
“Shall I erase this moon?” Puck asked, poising a cleaning cloth over a charcoal image, hand drawn by Linnea…
“You may,” Mom replied, listing the menu items for dinner… “Homemade vegetable soup and Carrie’s bread. And for those who eat dessert, homemade peanut butter fudge.”
“I will eat my soup!” Puck declared immediately. “If it’s really really delicious!”

Meanwhile, for the first time in so many years of study and research and certification and degrees and classes, etc., Dad, who still spent two hours a week preparing daily email devotions for the family, and more time organizing Sunday School lessons, youth Bible studies, etc., was finding a little more spare time for fun things again. He and Mom went up for a run/walk at the track before returning for dinner.

After another heavy day of work in a heavy week, OLeif did the routine Wednesday pick-up once again. This time, there was an added passenger. Given that Madeline the cat was basically being bullied to death by the lioness, Floozie, because of the kittens, she would be stationed at the little Silverspoon house to save her soul until the mother was removed from the situation four weeks later.
Madeline spent her night exploring.
