In which there are intended to be several quiet days at home…
Back home for another stretch.
The morning was already warm.
Classical station.
Ravi Zacharias apologetics.
Review of Dad’s introduction to his dissertation.
Puck broke a lightbulb… how he managed such things, Collette could never quite figure…
Outside in the breeze, shadowed by west-folds of pale violet rain clouds, rain that never fell…
Cod.
Strawberries.
Fruit flies.
Ants.
Calvin & Hobbes.
Puck found a receipt from Trader Joe’s on OLeif’s nightstand.
“Where did you find that?” Collette asked him.
“On Daddy’s nightmare.”
At lunch, Puck had thoughts while finishing his glass of water…
“Jesus in the boss.”
A little Classic Doctor Who.
Puck was sporting a new haircut from over the weekend, served up by Carrie-Bri.
Outdoors in the afternoon, their neighbor made mention of all the railroad ties (or was it spikes?…) to get rid of in her backyard…
Puck watered all the plants with his green spray bottle.
Inside, the AC kicked back on. Puck seemed slightly chagrined by this advent.
“We can’t have cold air on the pipes, ’cause that means… cold air comes into our body.”
And the cicadas droned on, in unison.
OLeif returned from work and Target-errands, including the purchase of a hand mirror.
And a catch-up on the latest Doctor Who episodes.
In reflections on the 2011 graduation…
In OLeif’s and Collette’s opinion, at least, it had been the best of the past seven that they had attended, including their own, which had been the very first ceremony. Collette also came to realize for the first time, that this made her the first-ever graduate of the SCCHE community. It was almost like opening an era… and it made her feel rather old.
In other news of the day…
Dad, Mom, and the boys were down in Kentucky for two days to check out the new Creation Museum.
Emerald had her second baby boy, down in Shreveport, weighing in at a hefty 9 pounds, 3 ounces.
And Evangeline was going to have another baby, due the day before Collette’s 27th.
