All Those Crazy Fridays

In which the day dulls down…

OLeif got his gear together for the morning.
“I’m gonna miss you, Daddy.”
“I’m gonna miss you too, Buddy.”
“You know, Daddy… I like super boring stuff. You should take me to work with you.”
Then he discussed the prayers of ‘holy people’ and the simple prayers that God preferred.

A completely quiet day at the office.
Enormous mold counts.
Two phone calls.
Sinai in for an hour and a half before Collette left.

Back on the ranch…
Mom was leaving for Kitaro’s to meet Mrs. English for lunch.
Carrie-Bri was painting Puck’s face to look like a cow on ‘Cow Appreciation Day’ at Chick-fil-A to rope in a free chicken sandwich. He was a little grumpy cow to start off…
“Do not put make-up on my fluffy white cheeks, Sun” he pleaded.
Once he got used to the black cow spots on his face, and the t-shirt decorated in black spots and ‘Mooo!’, Carrie administered a spontaneous foam cow-ears headband…
“Not on my real ears, please,” Puck said, “’cause they’re fat and chubby.”
And Linnea was at volleyball practice.

When Joe and Puck returned from Chick-fil-A and the madness of Cow Day, Puck dove into his ‘happy meal’, which included The Prince and the Pauper in storybook form. He had also had his photo taken while there to be added to the Green Lantern newsletter.
And Earnest was busy grooming Carrie’s face with his little pink tongue.

Later in the heat of the afternoon…
Linnea returned from practice with a bamboo and an orchid to babysit.
Mom returned from a dress fitting.
Dad had Carrie order him a new wallet and reading glasses.
Puck had been re-gifted a 2003 graduate charm bracelet from his grandma, which included a class ring charm. He called it his ‘sparkling jewel’.
And Dad intended on bringing in Jason’s Deli for dinner for a first-try.
As they left later in the afternoon, Puck packed off with his ‘moo ears’ from Carrie, he blew a kiss to his grandpa.
“I put it into his heart,” he said.

Movie night was a little thin.
OLeif was at a production meeting for an all-day photo shoot the following Saturday until 8:45. Bing and Rose, who was at Forest Park with a friend, were out. So was Magnus, who, house-sitting, had managed to lose the dog (who had bit both Joe and Wally) that belonged to the house. Something about escaping over the fence… So that left Collette and Joe, a bowl of watermelon, blonde Oreos, Cheez-Its, and Cosby to start the evening.
