Andy's 21st

Andy was 21.
So Collette and Puck came over in the hopes of helping him celebrate, even though everyone but Carrie was away for the day. And Joe, himself, had class from nine till noon.

After OLeif had dropped them off at the house, OLeif told Puck that he would wave to him as he drove away.
“Don’t wave, Daddy, don’t wave,” said Puck solemnly. “It’s too sad.”

Joe returned from school and several hours at work, (before they sent him home because it was his birthday), just in time for Mom and the kids to return from Classic Conversations. And Carrie took off for Arabic. Then Mom and Dad left for the Eight’s house for dessert and Sunday School class discussion.

But before everyone split for the evening, Collette and OLeif gave Joe his present: a Mugen t-shirt. And he just about flipped when he saw it.
“Mugen is amazing,” said Joe. “If Honda were God, then Mugen would be like Jesus.”

That evening, Puck climbed up onto the couch with his warm milk and watched some Discovery Channel about truckers with OLeif.
“Watchin’ trucks drive through the snow,” he said, wide-eyed.
And, as was his custom, he always stuck out his tongue when he said the word ‘the’.
