April 19

It was another double birthday: this time for Evangeline and Eleda. And in celebration of Eleda’s 13th, she, Linnea, and Mandarin were getting their ears pierced together that very afternoon at the mall.
Meanwhile, Puck had been cuddling with Donkey. Seeing baby Hesed at the hospital had inspired him. On the way home he had said, “Mama, I want you to wrap me up in a blanket too.”
And on Monday afternoon, he sat wrapped up in his baby blanket from Grandma Snicketts, watching videotapes of higher math with Carrie.
The afternoon was gray.
Collette was explaining to Puck how Linnea was getting ‘holes in her ears to put jewelry in them’.
“I want a hole in my ear too,” said Puck. And then he thought about it. “I don’t want jewelry in my ear.”
But he did get to see the titanium studs in Linnea’s ears when she returned. And Linnea seemed happy with them.
In the evening, while OLeif came to pick up Puck from the house, Collette joined Mom and Carrie-Bri on a visit to New Town after piecing together a basket of cookies, apples, oranges, pears, and Ghirardelli chocolates.
Then to visit the baby. Travis’ little girl. Just about a month old, and a cutie. She had weekly casts and many surgeries ahead of her. But she was a strong little thing. And she was thriving.
Meanwhile, Iceland continued to spew ash. Oh, Iceland… always predictably unpredictable. Hiding in the shadows.
