April 24

Another day begun with rain. Puck participated in one of his favorite pastimes: stealing socks, while Collette vacuumed the rug, floor, and couches. She emptied the dish washer while he was securely tucked away with OLeif in the bedroom (who was sleeping in, due to writing late into the night). Puck had a habit of entering dish washers, uninvited.
Later, they sat in the living room, while Collette tried to teach Puck how to make his new toy operate.
“Quick, Puck, learn how to make this machine work, or the Earth’s going to explode!” she told him.
Somehow Collette got the idea that Puck did not find this to be urgent news, and ignored his toy.
