April Fools

Rose had just returned from class.
“Someone stole my pottery AGAIN!”
“Are you sure, Rose?”
“Yes, I’m sure. I saw it go into the kiln.”
“Maybe it got sent to another classroom.”
“No. I checked everyone else’s shelves. Someone took it.”
“Well, I guess you can take that as a compliment,” said Mom, who almost always saw the bright side of life.
Rose soon forgot her woes, however, and was singing in the kitchen:
“Oh, she really was a fatso…”
Collette and Puck left early to pick up OLeif from work. Then they drove over to the Silverspoon’s to visit an old friend of the family. Old enough that OLeif had been born in his house nearly twenty-four years ago. His name was Gorgon Pediment. He was 67 years old. He was in design. And from what Collette gathered, he seemed to be on a self-tour of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in Oklahoma and Chicago. He visiting on his way to Chicago. He was a pleasant fellow. It was always interesting to hear about other people’s lives.
