As Tuesdays Go

In which tiny creatures are observed and transport is considered…

Puck began his day with ‘Little Bear’ porridge; he liked it even more than Collette had anticipated. They practiced etiquette, should the Queen of England ever call up Puck to have breakfast tea. He thought this was very funny.
Rose texted news about the Fiat 500.
And Puck found a stray ant on the windowsill.
“He probably likes me ’cause I’m not going to squish him. Where is he going in that hole? Probably he’s putting the disease away so he can crawl on my finger. He’s my best friend. But I can’t hug him, right? Now he’s a naughty ant. He nibbled some out of the mirror. He nibbled it, and now he ate the mirror…”

Passing into the day…
The bruise on Collette’s leg was looking like a sizable red, greenish-purple hurricane.
A few calls from Joe and Rose about the Fiat… Apparently the ad campaign had not yet begun, and the dealership, to date, had sold only 25 models. No one seemed to know about them yet. [Joe also had plans to hike with Tor that afternoon…]
Photos of Laurel Peach and her new family at Disney World and Cocoa Beach…

During Quiet Hour, Puck was busy reading, stretched out on his stomach on Collette’s bed…
“Mama? God will never flood the world again, right? At least God is up in Heaven now, talking to His Heavenly Fadder (Father), isn’t He?”
He had also become fascinated with Collette’s old butter yellow leather bag, which he had commandeered as his ‘man purse’…
“Now we’re purse buddies, aren’t we? Actually, Mama, I prefer you should keep this.”
With the mail came an offered subscription to Antiques Roadshow (Rose), and Culver’s coupons (Dad and Francis).
The Adventures of Marco Polo — cassette tape, 1993.

Puck helped with the burgers and sweet potato fries (to be dipped in mayo, Dutch-style) for supper. He carefully watched the blue flame on the stove, not moving when Collette moved around the hot pans.
“I held still as an iceberg, Mama,” he said seriously.

Following dinner, while reading The Prince & The Pauper
“Mama? What does ‘on love’ mean?”
OLeif returned.
The unbelievable monologues of Fabio, the New Old Spice Guy.
Arnica rub for growing pains.
OLeif read to Puck as he fell asleep.
A little IT Crowd before bed. Ridiculous.
