At the Silverspoon's

In which a quiet Saturday is spent at the Silverspoon house…
OLeif’s 8:30 Bible study hour was spent, for Puck, with his daddy in the nursery with the other dads and their kids, including Hesed and Anneliese, while their wives were on the church women’s retreat. And Collette worked in the blue table room with the genealogy glossary, which was now 34% complete.
Then, after two weeks apart, back to the Silverspoon’s for another Saturday, this time in the early spring weather, the white blossoming trees, and the ever-greening lawns, where…
Izzy had enjoyed a successful week of photography and had sung a duet the previous evening at the Senior Banquet, in Korean.
And with the grill going once again in the fresh air, the house, doors open, smelled very much of a 19th century restored village of woodsmoke fires.
And OLeif continued to recover from his sinus infection, feeling not as well that particular morning…
Minecraft for Izzy and Puck…
The usual catch-up on who was doing what… Kitts in Columbus to go horseback riding on her birthday, Relevance with a job interview for a company in perhaps Connecticut, Curly in Nashville with possibilities of internships, etc.
The day wore on.
Puck hurried outside.
“I was outside with my bare feet, and it was hot as fire!” he declared.
To the closet for a little glass jar.
“I’m going to catch bugs in this!” he announced.
Run back outside…
“Come here, bees! Bees! Bees! Could you just whistle, Nana, so they come? Here, bee, bee, bee, bee, bee!”
Lunch: pork steak, bacon, sweet potato in butter, cranberry-raspberry La Croix. Collette’s tastes were slowly adapting…
For the afternoon, in the quiet cool…
Theodore and Gloria pruned back brush on the side of the house.
Izzy mowed the lawn.
Puck lodged a miniature shard of glass in his foot, was bandaged, and returned to digging holes in the landscaping. A few swing-arounds from Uncle Izzy before leaving…
And for the evening…
It was a quiet several hours with cashews, British comedy, catching up on life with OLeif as usual, and looking over ideas for Puck’s curriculum the following fall, which included Eyewitness and Cultures of the World series from the library, beginning with Africa and Afghanistan, respectively.
And reports from Lisbon were wisteria, honeysuckle, lace curtains, blue and yellow tile, etc., and etc.
