August 12th
Before leaving for the morning, Puck climbed into his car seat.
“Mom, go check the roses,” he instructed.
He was used to Collette looking over the vines before they left in the mornings, to make sure they were climbing properly. Thus the request.
Upon arrival at the house, Mom, Collette, Linnea, and Puck headed out for errands. Linnea needed new drawing pencils for geography. Snacks were necessary for the two-day trip to Colorado. And Mom treated them to pretzels at the mall, after Puck had watched the double-decker carousel spin around for three cycles.
Back at the house, Francis was furiously shoveling rock to level the back of the driveway before he left to mow the neighbor’s lawn, and then bike to Dairy Queen with Creole.
Carrie was back from helping Lucia, by the time they returned, and was already in the kitchen making sushi.
The third phase of her interview was Thursday afternoon.
Joe popped back after work to scrub out the mini van inside and out, complete with fresh scents, sound system, plugs for laptops, etc., for their early departure the following morning.
He and Collette then picked up the big old green thing from the repair shop at the Ford dealership, followed by tutoring Rose back home, and music at church for OLeif. And Carrie was staying at home for the night to watch the meteor shower.
Etc., etc., etc.
