August 16th
Mom and the boys were still in Colorado.
It was a warm, gray day.
Henri Eight preached his first sermon at church, as a sort of introduction to his new role as Director of Youth Ministries.
Rose and OLeif joined Ben-Hur and the Popples sisters for lunch.
After which, OLeif helped Peter and Julia Pretzel move.
He then joined the youth group for the evening to play Three-on-a-Couch.
Meanwhile, Collette watched Puck stomp in dust piles and made sure that he didn’t put rocks in his mouth while Linnea joined them between conversations with Cherry and Mandarin on the phone and walks with the neighbor girls.
Back inside, Dad had ordered Little Caesar’s and, around writing papers, discussed PhDs with Collette and Carrie-Bri.
Then Carrie asked Puck if he wanted to help roll cookies in sugar and bake them.
“With Kitty?” Puck asked.
He was remembering the last time he had rolled cookies in sugar, with Kitts, when she had been in town.
Then Carrie showed Puck how to make ‘finger hats’ out of thimbles, and showed him how to wrap ‘presents’ (a.k.a. his little toys and gadgets) in gold tissue paper.
