A day at home.
And a little rain.

Francis and Linnea were dropped off in the morning, for Francis to chop up a large pile of branches in the backyard, while Mom went to Bible study.

“Read Little Bear, Lila,” Puck instructed. “Read Little Bear.”
He shuffled over to the couch wearing Linnea’s white flip-flops on his feet.
“Read Lila.”
“Ok. Come up here.”
“No, Lila. I gotta go to work. I gotta go to work, Lila.”

The rest of the day was quiet.
There were too many ‘bad bugs’ (mosquitos) outside to merit any time in the great outdoors.
Collette prepared Garden Enchiladas for supper.
And Puck busied himself riding Bullseye.

That night, as Puck went down for the night, he was quiet for a few moments. Then…
“I burped, Mama! I burped!”
Collette excused him, and then he settled down in his nest for the night.
