August 6th

That morning, Collette, Linnea, and Puck took a trip over to the park for some fun around the jungle gym.
Puck was distracted for part of the hour watching another ‘baby’ who had come to join in the fun.
But Puck was determined not to follow Linnea down the slide.
“I can’t,” he said solemnly. “I have to go to work. I sorry, Lillea.”

Next, as the sun was beginning to become quite warm, Puck loaded up on cold water in his sippy, and they headed out to the mall for a few errands.

Collette had found a stray 25-dollar gift card to Baby Gap, which had been given to her when Puck was born. And so Puck took a jaunt in his stroller while Collette and Linnea picked out two short-sleeved collared shirts for the little gentleman, realizing that he was closer to the three year-old sizes, than to the two year olds. And there was still something left over on his card for another day.
Then Linnea picked out several pairs of earrings with her savings, in anticipation of the soon-approaching day that she would be allowed to have her ears pierced. These earrings were crafted into the shapes of: lady bugs, panda bears, and lightening bolts.

Afterwards, Collette bought Linnea a chocolate frosty from Wendy’s.

And that was their morning.

For the afternoon, while Collette made lasagna, Linnea taught Puck how to roll himself up in the living room rug.
Puck was not a fan of this new pastime, so he and Linnea built towers and roads out of cardboard blocks.
They followed this with washing the car in the great outdoors. Puck happily splashed in the streams of water cascading across the driveway. And when he finished, he marched back inside to be dried off and wrapped up in Linnea’s blue robe.

Later, around the dinner table, Collette reviewed the likely shore excursions they would take while in the Caribbean in October.
“In Dominica…” Collette was saying to OLeif. “Would you rather kayak in the ocean, or swim in a jungle waterfall?”
“I don’t know!” OLeif laughed. “Would you rather go to Saturn or Jupiter?”
