Bing's Recital

Saturday, November 22, 2008

Collette was feeling worse the next morning. Aches, the same sore throat, and congestion.
OLeif let her rest on the couch in the basement after serving her a breakfast of French toast sticks, turkey ham, scrambled eggs, and orange juice. Collette heard the happy bounce of her baby pounding around the living room throughout the day while she edited her next book, listened to lectures, and rested off the aches.
By the time late afternoon had arrived, she felt well enough to join the boys on several errands before Puck had his Saturday night bath. And by evening she was good to attend Bing’s cello recital at Missouri Baptist University.
The recital went well. Bing entered with a bow, dressed in black, and a tie picturing a cello on the front. He was becoming the perfect musical professor, as he thrashed through the many movements of Bach and Barber, flourished with dramatic presentation, and with Annamaria as accompanist on the second half.
Afterward, Collette spoke with the English’s Grandpa and Nana again while Denae and Mom served the cake with red roses and black frosting edged around a white cake, strawberries and pineapples, nuts, and an orange-ginger ale punch with ice rings of orange slices.
The evening ended close to 9:30 as everyone departed in the cold of a frosty night.
