Bouncy Balls & Bubble Wrap

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

It was finally Collette’s favorite month again. Another year gone by. Everyone another year older. Plus the beautiful tiny additions of Starlight and Sunlight. There were now 36 persons in the ever-growing and changing Snicketts/Black family.
Collette and Puck had the day at home and for running errands in the morning. Collette let Puck walk into the store on his own. Arriving at Target, with the hood pulled over his head on his little jacket, he immediately saw the giant red balls as barriers by the doors.
“Bahs!” he cried, and hurried over to pat one.
Over at the grocery store, someone was playing Enya again. Puck didn’t know what music was playing, and didn’t mind, as long as he got his bananas. Collette also let him hold a bag of lentils as he traveled through the aisles.
By lunch, a box had arrived in the mail. It was Puck’s Christmas present – a tub of sixty crabapple-sized high-bouncing bouncy rubber balls. OLeif gave Puck a preview piece, which he continued to bounce throughout the rest of the day. He wasn’t even willing to part with it by bedtime. Sometime after he was in snoozeland, they heard the ball roll out of his crib and bounce several times onto the floor.
And Puck and Collette continued their afternoon after Puck’s nap, popping bubble wrap together.
