Boycott Pittsburgh Day

Sunday, February 1, 2009

Sunday was a long and rather unsuccessful day.
From a 6:20 wake-up call to the Cardinal’s losing the Super Bowl… it ranged from very so-so, to irritating.
After four hours in the kitchen preparing Indian food with Rose, Collette’s back ached. And there was very little to show for it: samosas (small fried bread snacks filled with potatoes and spices), naan bread (flat bread), and fried beef kerala (of which they only used half the ingredients). They served these several dishes in the living room where the family was already gathered to watch Kurt Warner take the world stage for a third time.
Fortunately, Dad helped with the dishes after the giant Indian mess, and OLeif had brought back some treats from World Market — a green glass bottle of sparkling apple cider, and a glass bangle and several bright-colored wood bangles for Collette.
Still, some days were best left on the shelf.
