Brilliant Sea

It was time for the bathroom to be painted – Brilliant Sea.
The only color now missing from the house of yellow, orange, red, green, and blue walls, would be purple. And maybe silver and gold for the basement. Collette had commissioned Francis to paint the bathroom. His payment was already reserved for the purchase of an air soft gun from Puff ‘o Lump.
So while Francis got to work, Carrie, Collette, and Puck made another round of shopping. This time, for Linnea’s birthday gifts. While they were out, they also picked up a new “Dead Tom” skeleton for Mom, a ghost lantern, and two sets of autumn/Halloween jelly window stickers.
By the time they had returned, Francis was busy in blue.
Most of the walls had been rolled. He was nearly ready to begin the trim work.
So after Collette opened the windows to gather some fresh air, Francis took a break and joined them for a lunch of barbecued chicken strips, Sun chips, and pink peach Italian soda, followed by a bag of dark chocolate M ‘n Ms.
Puck spent his afternoon tossing his new rubber balls on the wood floors, reading Goodnight Moon, and snuggling with his mama. He had also given his stamp of approval on the completion of the paint job in the bathroom. This, after he had shredded an almost-gone box of Kleenex and part of a roll of toilet paper while Collette pulled the painter’s tape and plastic tarps out of the bathroom.
