Bullfrog City?
Puck was in full hunting mode just before eleven o’clock that morning. Heidi’s game was at another school with bleachers in the gym. And the potential for treasure was tantalizing.
Turns out, he didn’t have to get ten steps beyond the car door before he discovered his find of the day.
“Mom! Look! I found a lock!”
An open padlock, just lying there on the ground. And a pretty old one, too. During the game he lounged on the bleachers wearing his shocking orange hoodie (I will never lose him anywhere in that thing) and daydreamed about finding the key so he could use it.
He did manage to be aware enough of his surroundings, however, to see Heidi get some good hits, and help her team win one of three sets.
Meanwhile, amongst the various “oddities” of our new home included a small tadpole pond in the landscaping of the front yard. They still hadn’t converted, despite the lateness of the season. So, Rose had ordered a fish tank for the boys to make the transfer. I was a little worried that we’d end up wintering with about 50 bullfrogs in the basement. But we couldn’t just let them freeze to death, so Puck prepared the tank.
Afterwards, the boys had a “guys movie” in the basement after Domino’s while I enjoyed a little peace and quiet upstairs over some 1840’s Colombia Netflix drama, which I finally realized about five episodes in was actually a telenovela.
