Change Up

After waking from dreams of OLeif shredding through invaluable family antique figurines of woodland animals…
It was time to jumpstart another day.

Rain had decided to fall in the night after all, and the world was subsequently a cooler place as OLeif kicked off to work at a later hour. Collette edited his midterm paper while Puck practiced playing Boggle over a cup of strawberry yogurt.

As a fine mist continued to stretch out the morning, most of the day was spent catching up with work on Collette’s part while Puck enjoyed some free-time vacation hours, after his reading lessons had been completed. And Snickers, for whom Puck had made a cosy nest in Izzy’s old room, slumbered away in one corner of the house, while Sebastian did likewise in the other.
Netflix disc of Shaun the Sheep, ordered in by Gloria for the Puckster.
A quick look into the cast of Shakespeare in the Park for the late spring.
Gloria checked in from her breakfast of omelette and coffee at Shoney’s. Shoney’s – from those old days in Ohio. Blast from the past.
Collette was feeling a little sore from all the underdogs with Puck on the swing from Wednesday.
And Puck fished up a pair of round lensless glasses out of a basket in the basement before Collette could stop him.

Puck lunched on a quesadilla and strawberries as he half-passively took in the first hour and a half of a Cards vs. Nationals game with Collette.
A little pie.
He was a little more interested in Stockholm Syndroming the cat during Quiet Hour in Izzy’s old room. During this time he had also attached a string from the toy closet to the handle of Izzy’s door.
“Mama! Do you see me yanking on the string? That means I want a banana!”
And the afternoon in the 50’s continued.
Hi-Ho Cheerio was a little too much competition for Puck to handle.
He was sentenced to “Papa’s Chair” in the living room for some contemplation regarding his sore-sport-temper.
Band-aid on a kitty bite…
And Puck wrapped up his afternoon with a sort-of version of the harmonica and a set of tiny plastic horses in stables.

Catechism Question #10 – Where is God?
Puck’s answer – “Everywhere… Even the North Pole.”
Before brushing his teeth for the night – one of Puck’s least-favorite activities of the day – he self-imposed a final exercise regimen involving slamming himself from one room to the next, into the tub for a “quick dance”, and then around again over and over…
“Just one more dance and then I’ll be done,” he promised.

OLeif’s buddy night had been last-minute canceled, so he returned at a moderate hour of 7:04 to catch up on the ever-encroaching list of seminarian responsibilities, handfuls of mini sweet crunchy peppers with spinach, artichoke, and parmesan dip, and bowls of stuffed spicy peppers and beef.
