Christmas at Grandpa's
The last Christmas celebration of the season. At Grandpa’s.
Before the evening arrived, however, Puck was having some quiet moments on the couch with his Christmas toys. He loved to have a warm blanket wrapped around his feet while he stayed there, looking through his book collection.
For the rest of the day, Collette put together the 63 cardboard stacking bricks for Puck while he rummaged through his box of bouncy balls and zoomed his matchbox cars on the floor.
When they arrived at Grandpa’s that evening, sodas were ready, as were baskets of pretzels in various forms, which Puck saw almost immediately. He spent his hour thundering up and down the carpeted stairs with his Lila, and begging more pretzels sticks.
The newlyweds, Amanda and Eriic, were there to share photos from the wedding (including everything from dress fittings with Aunt Galena and gourmet cupcakes from The Loop for the bridal shower, to portraits backdropped by a small waterfall), to catch up on the lives of the Luther Snicketts quadrant of the family, and to discuss the Civil War, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, etc. Eriic, who had attended William & Mary for his law degree, and was a true Yankee (though from Richmond), was still pleased to be related directly to General Lee.
It was always an informational gathering at Grandpa’s. And thus the Christmas of 2008 marched into the annals of history.
