Christmas Eve Eve

While the weather man was predicting possibilities of freezing rain, Collette and Puck still had Christmas groceries to hunt down in the cold afternoon. Puck, however, was more willing to take a warm, cozy nap in Rose’s room while his mom braved the biting winds.
Before that hour had arrived, however, Puck saw the big fat black blob cuddled under the Christmas tree. That was all it took. Puck began flinging aside presents to get to his fluffball and give her a happy head-butt.
That afternoon, Mom, Collette, and Francis headed out into the driving cold rain. Shopping was not, however, without its rewards. Churros, Izze sodas for Francis, bright ribbon to tie Christmas presents… It was a satisfactory spin around town.
By the time they returned, everyone was in the living room (including Rose, who had just returned from work, and Wally), watching the little chubby play in his tent under the piano.
After Puck had gone down for the night, Collette and OLeif opened the package of chocolate mint cookies from Collette’s birthday basket. This was followed with more readings from Michael Phelp’s autobiography.
