Church Steeple
Saturday, May 7, 2005
Francis and Linnea had a good time that evening. First, before Francis came over from his choir workshop, OLeif and Collette took Linnea to the grocery store. After picking out eggs, bacon, and cinnamon rolls for breakfast, at OLeif’s urging, they decided on Pizza Hut for dinner. On the way to the check-out, Collette quickly looked over the flowers. She saw the antiqued hyacinths in blues and mauves and dark purples. She knew Mom would love one. She had in mind some great big bright sunflowers for Denae, but did not see any.
After the first feature, OLeif took Francis and Linnea to Oberweiss for ice cream. This gave Collette the time she needed to complete Girl with a Pearl Earring. She decided it would be yet another book she would need to revise, and she set it aside upon finishing, somewhat disappointed.
Meanwhile, the church steeple had risen to completion that morning. After three hours, the golden cross was finally secured at the top, and the building began to look like a church. Collette had a good view while she printed the bulletin, and snapped pictures. More were of Joe and Bob Buckle playing football, and of Francis and Linnea fencing.
