Coffee House

It was basketball season again. This time, only Linnea was still young enough to participate, and with Eleda, for the third year in a row. It was a fast game, a loss about 30 to 10 or so. And, without intention, Linnea’s green chucks matched her new jersey.

Then to the Silverspoon’s where a fire was crackling in the hearth, Izzy was frying sausages, and OLeif was busy pondering entrepreneurial endeavors and snacking on Havarti cheese and almonds.
After a lunch of pizza casserole, with the oven opened to send off added warmth, OLeif left for a photo shoot.
Then an off-and-on ‘little grumpy’ (as he described himself) Puck, watched Little Bear while Izzy worked with Legos. And Collette joined Gloria with a cup of orange herbal tea.

On the drive home, Collette asked Puck what he could tell her about his day.
“Jesus made me perfect,” he said.
“He’ll make you perfect some day,” said Collette. “When we’re in Heaven with everyone…”
And she listed off everyone in the family. Then Puck got a great grin on his face and made an exclamation.
“And you’ll see Jesus,” she told him.
“And Jesus will get his shoes on,” was Puck’s apparently disconnected response.

By the evening, Dad and Francis were out to watch Puck while Collette attended the coffee house to watch OLeif, Curly, and Izzy perform together. There were a variety of people from across the old times: Mr. and Mrs. Penny, a handful of current and old choir kids with a few parents, Magnus, the George kids, the Buckle boys, etc. Mom, Carrie, and Linnea also arrived with Joe and Rose… and Linnea had her usual hot chocolate. Carrie shared a bench with her at the back table with Collette. And there were enough tunes from the three-boy-band to last for two hours, including several pieces written by Curly, and a sea chantey: What do you do with a Drunken Sailor? The crowd of fifty or sixty, maybe more, throughout the evening, was pleased enough to request an encore of Danny Boy.
