In which rain is clearly hoped for, but not availed…
Still hot.
High 80’s.
Puck came in early that morning for the day’s run-down…
“We are going to watch Bug’s of Life today?” he asked.
“Later, with Daddy,” Collette replied.
He followed this up with slamming his impact-sensitive light-up colored swimming torpedos into the ground.
“I’m lighting up the room for you,” he explained.
At breakfast oatmeal, Puck mulled over a South America/Panama travel guide from 2005.
“This is my calendar,” he said importantly, holding it up to show his mama. “What day are we going up to Heaven, Mama?”
“We don’t know yet, Puck.”
“I do.”
“How do you know?”
“Magic tricks. Daddy said… I did magic tricks.”
Native American war chants.
And OLeif had been given a $150 gift card to a local beer shop from a friend at work for helping him with a website.
Attempted sunshine; no go; mosquitoes.
Huge mold count.
Dance party for Puck in the kitchen, and Where’s Waldo. The kiddo could entertain himself for a year and a day with a shoestring.
QH…
Puck spent the entire hour and twenty minutes listening to the stories of David & Goliath, and Jonah. On repeat.
In the afternoon, Puck was itching his shoulder.
“Did that mosquito get you?” Collette asked him.
“Yup. They found hot meat inside of me. And they don’t like hot meat. They like cold meat. ‘Cause I have hot water inside my stomach, after I drank that hot… caw-coa [cocoa].”
OLeif out with buddies, so it was dinner and a movie for Collette and Puck in the basement: Ratatouille. For dessert, they shared up the last part of the peanut butter jar.
In other news, Collette would be joining Dad, Mom, and Joe on a brief road trip to Kentucky late Sunday morning following Sunday School. Janek Raven was to be married Sunday night at the Baptist seminary in Louisville. It was time to see some old friends.
