Crawl, Baby, Crawl
Things were easy in Silverspoon Town. For breakfast, Collette and Puck ate a large orange. And while Puck practiced his:
“Nah nah nah nah!”s,
Collette read about Bethsaida to him. Although he wasn’t completely interested, he did talk loudly to his Runaway Bunny book, whose corner had already been gnawed off by himself earlier that month.
Earlier, OLeif squished Collette.
“Ah!” Collette winced. “You’re such a massive body.”
“I know I’m big,” said OLeif.
“I meant ‘body’ as in a planet or something.”
“I am a planet.”
“Then I must be like your moon. You’re crushing me.”
OLeif laughed, “No, you’re a satellite in my orbit.”
Puck was enjoying the sensation of his new front tooth, which was becoming more visible. Lunch was a messier job that day because he pushed the food around (which eventually ended up on his chin) to feel his new weapon.
Puck had accomplished a feat. Rose had been the first one to really see it.
“Look!” she exclaimed. “He just crawled all the way down the hall!”
By the time OLeif had walked home for dinner on Tuesday night, Puck had added a few more crawling paces to his repertoire. He was more interested, however, in screaming in glee as he buried himself head first into the laundry basket. He then pulled himself up next to another basket and pushed it around the floor, his socked feet scooting carefully behind as he shook his head and giggled.
“Ma ma ma ma!” he cried, obviously very pleased with his accomplishments.
“Where are you going, little man?” Collette asked him.
Puck just grinned and yelled, “Dah dah dah dah DAH!”
Later that evening, OLeif took off for the store for various things, including snacks for Rose who would be keeping an eye on Puck and the house the following evening.
Collette noticed Rose’s IM away message later that night:
“Jewelry class is no place for a mighty warrior!”
