Daily Activity
A day at home. Most days were filled, from dawn to night, caring for Puck’s needs, working on papers, books, records, teaching Puck how to read, preparing meals, fixing things, looking over finances, cleaning the house or tutoring Francis, etc. Collette was in her fifth official year of domestication. And while it wasn’t her ideal job, there was satisfaction in watching the end of the day culminate in a very happy chubby baby drinking his warm bedtime milk before going down for a long winter’s nap with a “Nigh, night!”
In other important news of the week, Diana had received a press pass to view the Inauguration. Not only had she been given a seat close enough to see the new President, but she had seen several celebrities in the crowd.
That evening, the usual crew came over, this time with a plate of double chocolate chip muffins, created by Carrie.
“Healthy muffins,” said Carrie, wrinkling her nose. “Mom gave me the recipe. Wheat flour.”
It didn’t stop anyone, however, from finishing the entire plate.
