Day #024
“Quarantine” Day #024
- Grandma and Mom stop by for an hour to see the kids, six feet away; Grandma realizes that the “sticker balls” in our yard look just like the coronavirus
- Yali gives Patience’s giant stuffed unicorn a bath in the kiddie pool before I realize what’s happening; this will only take about two years to dry out
- Realize the Soviet era gas mask I purchased for Puck’s 13th birthday (his idea) is shipping from Lithuania, and will almost definitely not arrive in time for his actual birthday
- Discover yellow smiley stickers and lime green Sharpie scribbled all over the glass kitchen door
- Take kids on a walk around the usual neighborhood – 88 degrees out – where Yali’s puppet tiger pauses to munch on every lawn; salad time
- Discover that Oxbear and Puck consume a gallon of milk – each – per week now; we should probably invest in our own cow

Yali, assisting me with Patience’s bath…
“Here you go, sweetie pie!” he said cheerfully, adding a few toys to the hot water.
“I want more toys!” Patience squawked, delighted.
Yali looked to heaven and paused, thinking, then said, “Oh, Yali! What are you going to do?”
