December 13

The day was cold enough to have windchills below zero. A reported high of eighteen degrees. The snow no longer fell. But it had been reported that AAA had received over 2,000 calls since Sunday.
So indoors, Puck and Collette spent most of the day putting up and playing with, the model Cardinals Christmas train that Grandma Combs had given Puck several years ago. Puck was fixated on the engine as it went around the track. And he planted himself into the track’s ring with a blanket and a bowl of raisins as he watched the activity.
Puck was sporting a new outfit that morning. Luke had given him some hand-me-downs. And Puck eagerly put on a soccer shirt, and then a basketball jersey over that. With his green track pants, he was looking sportingly three year-old boy.
And the usual…
Monday’s Livemocha.
Puck’s bubble bath.
Jog.
John MacArthur.
And Puck’s latest obsession — getting a little high chair for his baby brother in Colombia. He had seen a doll’s version of it over at the house on Sunday afternoon, and he could not get the idea out of his head.
As Puck went down to sleep that night, he ran over the usual thoughts in his baby brain…
“Mama? Do I have two fah-ders (fathers)?”
“Yes. You have Daddy. And you have GOD.”
“And do you have two fah-ders too?”
Meanwhile, it was time for OLeif to take his final. He brought back various sorts of cheese, to celebrate. And he crashed into bed at 12:24am.
It had been a completely quiet day but for Christmas music. And for 30 Rock re-runs in the evening.
