Down Days

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

It had happened again late Sunday night. OLeif was hit like a bold of lightening through early the following morning. Collette, who still hadn’t experienced the horrible episode of “loosing her groceries” for over sixteen years, kept to that record, but was feeling too weak to move for almost the next 36 hours through a day of wild winds and balmy 73 degrees.
Fortunately, it was Grandma and Nana to the rescue, who took Puck to play with them for the next two days while OLeif and Collette recovered.
Unfortunately, everyone else (almost) came down with the same nasty bug by Wednesday morning.
It had been a bad round. After skirting any such ailment for a good number of years, it had returned with a vengeance.
Meanwhile, it was another double birthday. Grandpa’s 81st, and a 20th for Magnus.
So on that cool rainy day, Collette and Puck spent their hours reading together, coloring Puck’s Highlights calendar from Grandma Snicketts, and building many many towers out of his cardboard blocks. And Puck cuddled very happily with his stuffed donkey.
