Dr. Snicketts is in the House

Last minute changes sent Collette to the office for Kate Middleton, whose illness was still twisting out new complications.
On the ride out, OLeif pulled up some surprisingly serious new music about a mummy falling in love with an archaeologist. Collette could never concentrate on lyrics; OLeif found amusement in this…
“You can write whole books, but you can’t listen to the lyrics of a three minute song,” he would laugh at her.
Even Puck did better from his booster seat in the back…
“He was a dead man first and then he came alive again and walked out of the museum, right Dad?”
Work was absolutely quiet, and lasted just two point five hours.
Collette placed the come-get-me call right before eleven. Mom answered…
“I’ll be right over to get you. If you don’t mind me waiting just a few more minutes first. I’d like to see how Bear Grylls gets across shark-infested waters.”
Yes, Bear Grylls had made a reappearance in the Snicketts house, due to the wide and limited world of Netflix.
Confetti sugar cookies were waiting under glass.
And Linnea had never before seen the short film created at OLeif’s 18th birthday party, including Collette in one of the lead roles. A performance that won her the category of “Best Actress”. So Collette brought over the old VHS, and they laughed up some old times, with 20 year-old Shepherd Pretzel directing.
In bigger news, however, Dad had apparently returned from work the previous evening with a big grin…
“You may now call me – Dr. Snicketts.”
Final paperwork was being run. But everything was official.
Puck, meanwhile, had found an old fedora in Carrie’s room, and was toting around a small empty violin case from the basement…
“You look like a lounge band singer,” Collette told him.
“I don’t look like a lounge bang sinner!” he protested.
Francis had been at work, home, then back again to fill out report cards for the squirming kids in his swimming classes.
Linnea was well enough to accompany Collette and Puck on a very warm walk, which ended in a half-way pick-up, three separate scoops, via Francis and the Ruckus.
Dad, aka “The Doctor”, returned from work to enjoy another dinner out with Mom for the evening.
And OLeif arrived before seven to share the spoils of a Pizza Hut dinner box gathered on the way home.
