Dr. Who Marathon

Experts were predicting that fuel would fall to a dollar. Further experts suggested that the rise of unemployment signaled the end of the worst. It was a strange world.
And in that cold afternoon, Collette, Carrie, and Puck took another trip to the grocery store. It was difficult not to run errands on a frequent basis when baby was constantly in need of more food.
This time, it was blueberries. Fresh blueberries. For some reason, Shop ‘n Save carried no frozen fruit at all. Carrie found small packages of fresh expensive blueberries from Argentina, as they wheeled the cart around to the produce section.
Puck was pleased.
While Carrie picked up several other necessary groceries, Collette handed Puck a box of white chocolate-covered pretzels drizzled in green and red chocolate. After a carton of eggnog for Dad, they returned to the house.
The pretzels, unfortunately, were a bad idea.
“I think they added too much paraffin to these pretzels,” said Dad. “They taste like candles.”
Collette had to agree. Something funny was going on with them. Fortunately Mom, who loved everything, was more than happy to save them for her own snack.
That evening, while OLeif finished his book, Collette joined the rest of the family back at the house for a Dr. Who marathon. Everyone was there with Little Caesar’s and crazy bread, except for Francis, who arrived late from an evening with Puff ‘o Lump and Creole.
They gathered in Mom’s and Dad’s room in front of the big screen. Anything was big compared to the ten-inch box in the living room. And they watched the final hours and sad parting of Dr. Who and Rose until after ten o’clock.
