In which a reprieve in the week provides revisited ideas about the near future…
Puck practiced writing his name that morning to the thunder of full orchestral arrangements.
A call from the church secretary; Collette would be filling in that week, unexpectedly.
An edit of Dad’s resume letter.
OLeif checked out a few houses in U City between work and class.
Caesar salad for lunch. That was a milestone. A profound milestone in Collette’s life. The day she realized that she actually, yes, indeed, most certainly liked… salad.
And a typical afternoon:
Jog.
Books about the Loch Ness monster, soup kitchens, pirate treasure, and robots.
Puck played ‘tractor’ in the backyard in the wind while Collette prepared lasagna.
Johnny Cash; Puck liked that. He had his own sort of swaying-spinning dance he cooked up for it.
Puck’s bath while Collette caught up on Berkman clips and other documents.
OLeif called in during the dinner hour. Puck asked to speak with him right away…
“Dad? I want you to sell our house for twenty pieces of silver.”
OLeif returned to shuffle through the photos of various houses… it was sort of like pulling teeth, the thought of moving. Time would tell.
Parks & Recreation and Cheddar Jack Cheez-Its for some laughs with OLeif to wrap up a deep-thinking day.
And now things would be cold again.
