End of Summer
The little Silverspoon family spent their day over at Papa and Nana Silverspoon’s. Denae had finished her kitchen cabinets and was making plans to finish the trim around the ceiling and find colorful prints for the walls.
Izzy was busy looking for a fedora, which seemed to be a necessity in order to play with the swing band for the next three years. However, after realizing that it would be difficult to find a decent one for under $45, he changed his mind, and decided to wear Curly’s old, somewhat worn fedora.
The day was somewhat cool and gray. Inside, Puck was teaching himself how to climb the stairs and descend as rapidly as possible, which was only as fast as Collette would allow. The bottoms of his chubby baby feet padded on the wooden steps with a great sense of accomplishment.
Once successfully arrived in the basement, he accompanied Denae in Jack’s shop, where she was preparing the pantry door for primer.
In the afternoon, Denae made brownies while Jack dropped off Izzy at the Snicketts’ for Francis’ day of air softing.
Most of the day, Theodore and OLeif discussed finances and church matters, followed by OLeif’s study and web design, which inevitably ended with a brownie and glass of milk over the funnies. He never had completely grown up.
By the time evening had arrived, Collette left for her constitutional rollerblade three times around the neighborhood (after slipping down the sloped front lawn, as usual) before Mollie arrived for a Photoshop tutorial with OLeif while Collette watched Night at the Museum.
And new tulip bulbs had arrived in the mail — called Rembrandt because each tulip bloomed as though it had been painted with two different colors.
