Errors?
It was time for Dad to take another business excursion to Cedar Falls, this time for nine days. Mom was leaving on Thursday with Grandma Combs for Texas. And Carrie and Lucia were returning Tuesday late afternoon from Ireland.
Mom had a pork shoulder roast ready for Sunday lunch before Dad left. This was followed with chocolate brownies.
That evening was set aside, not to run, but for fried ham sandwiches, Reeses peanut butter cups in vanilla ice cream, and gymnastics (where the United States won another silver and a bronze). This was coupled with a teary defeat for another United States gymnast, Alicia Sacramone. Her failure to medal in the vault was judged to be a “rip off”.
“She deserved to be on that medal podium,” said Bela Karoyli adamantly.
And so the judging errors continued.
