Everybody dance now

Patience is awake before six o'clock that morning excited for competition...

Something else was up before six o'clock too and decided to leave vomit all over the living room floor... maybe that explained the pitiful meowing waking us in the night... never checked on it because we have two pretty dramatic cats living in this house...

So while Oxbear joins some buddies shooting clay pigeons out of the air...

Patience and I shuttle down the road to another feis weekend submerged in curly wigs and gleaming rhinestones and meandering accordions...

Patience runs off for Phase 1 with friends before eight o'clock while Mama locates an isolated corner at the end of a long hallway with a stack of notebooks...

In the hours of waiting ahead... Puck's first call to me mostly goes... “I'm going to eat this sandwich in the fridge” // “Okay I guess...” // **munch munch** “Gross... it's bologna”... His second call... “The cat...” Yes... the cat realized (whichever cat it was) that it wasn't enough to leave vomit all over the floor that morning... but that what we really wanted was gifts from the “other end” spread all over the couch and picnic quilts... “I'm just going to take apart the couch and burn it” Puck suggests... talk him down from that particular idea before...

...Patience runs up with her giggling gaggle clutching complimentary balloon creatures from downstairs...

It's late afternoon... we're at about seven hours of mostly waiting... and finally it's time for awards... Patience is planted with two silver medals and a second place champions sash and bonus large Dublin crystal vase for all her hard hard work...

Everyone is back home together for about ten minutes that evening as Yali has returned from swimming with Nana... and Puck has returned an hour early from work because they overloaded workers in Produce and there is absolutely nothing left to do... before he buzzes over to O'Fallon to hang with his buddy J for the evening...

Weave eleven corn rows into Patience's hair for tomorrow's competition while she watches the Lindsay Lohan “The Parent Trap” for about the fourth time this month...

...and the heat just don't stop...
