Expansion
The sky was a blanket that morning, rolls of gray velvet laid out toward the rising sun.
Lunch was tortilla soup, mesquite chicken, sweet tea or guava mango juice, and The Office marathon at the Silverspoon’s. Puck squealed and gurgled for everyone, jealously eyeing the lunch spread out before him.
“This is what we call a feast, Puck,” OLeif told him.
Denae dropped off Izzy and Starr at Hortense Succotash’s murder mystery party in the midafternoon. Before leaving for youth, everyone took a walk around the neighborhood with Sebastian. Puck happily bounced down the road in his stroller with his dad at the helm.
And Kitts would be flying in on Thursday – had ideas about apple picking.
For the first time in a long time, 11 kids showed up for youth: Susie and Sunrise, Augustus and Pablo, Erasmus, Nacchianti, Potiphera Cheese, Crusher Rum, Goofy Nickels, and a red-headed brother and sister who enthusiastically participated in trashcan football.
The air was cool and the fields were gold.
By the end of the night, Puck was sleeping heavily with his face imprinted from the couch cushion and Collette had a headache.
On to another Monday.
