Puck was enjoying his new harmonica from Grandma Combs. He watched Collette blow on it. He smiled, took it, chewed on it, and handed it back Collette. Collette blew on it again. Puck’s deep chubby dimples grew. He took it, chewed on it, and handed it back again for more. Linnea came over in the mid-morning to help watch him while Collette cleaned the house and packed.
Mom was leaving that afternoon with Grandma Combs for the Cottonbowl in Texas.
Collette would be gone to New York, and then to Israel, for seventeen days. She would badly miss her boys.
