February 10
Puck had specific things on the mind that morning while Collette made him waffles:
“I’m gonna go on a date,” he said matter-of-factly.
“Who are you going on a date with?” Collette asked him.
“I’m gonna go on a date around da road wiff you, Mama.”
Over at the house, Puck immediately got to work with Rose on constructing paper eyes for Clam.
“He will have eyeballs so he can see!” he exclaimed. “What you think?”
For lunch, Carrie mixed a pot of fondue before she and Collette ran further errands for the weekend.
When they returned, Francis and Linnea were busy arguing over the potential effects of World World II if Hitler had taken over the world.
And Linnea told Collette about the “Easter Egg Chickens” that the Plums raises. They laid green and pink eggs.
That evening, OLeif and Puck took another walk together.
