“I don't feel so good...” Yali tells me early that morning... “my heart is beating really fast...” … and it is – pumping past 150 with a headache... for a kid with dextrocardia with situs inversus totalis and right renal agenesis, consult with his former-paramedic aunt and current-paramedic uncle... then schedule an appointment for later that morning...
Meanwhile Patience is blending a clementine smoothie for herself for breakfast and watching “Little House on the Prairie”...
Oxbear brings Yali to his appointment with Dr. B...
I bring Patience to Yellow Bird wearing a mask against germs before another big feis weekend...
Back home finally boil an egg for myself at eleven o'clock...
Meanwhile Puck is car shopping online... texts between himself, Oxbear, his car-expert uncle, and myself... really likes the 1989 Honda Prelude Elmer recommends...
While preparing a fat bacon and cucumber sandwich for Puck after his work-out... Oxbear texts : heart rate at 167 but no kidney problems... instead : Influenza A and some dehydration... first time our house has ever received an official flu diagnosis, actually... (of course we've never been tested for it either)...
Meanwhile the animals are clearly taking advantage of the household distractions : the dog somehow drags a quarter of a smoked chicken off the counter and the bad cat feels the need to spray a load of washed laundry (including Puck's work uniform shirt) with something foul..
As a light snow begins to fall... Puck leaves for five hours in Produce...
Patience is back from class with packs of valentines (including some for Yali) to switch on more “Little House”...
And Yali naps for hours in his bunk until evening...
After I make a pot of Patience's requested “cheesy rice” for dinner, I hear her quizzing Oxbear on his marriage proposal to me over twenty-one years ago... “Did you propose to Mom in a romantic place?” // “No” // GASP! … after some lengthy analyzation she still determines that... “Oxbear Silverspoon, your love rating is... a ten out of a nine!”
Yali is awake again and feeling somewhat cheerful... bring him a mug of blue Gatorade with a straw before Patience and I leave for two hours at the studio...
That snow is still coming...
